چکیده
The importance of the solution of the boundary integral equation for the exponentially growing solutions to the Schrödinger equation arising from the 2-D inverse conductivity problems is demonstrated by a study of reconstructions of simple piecewise constant conductivities on a disk from two methods of approximating the scattering transform in the Dbar method and from Calderón’s linearization method.

D-Bar Method for Electrical Impedance Tomography with Discontinuous Conductivities
The effects of truncating the (approximate) scattering transform in the D-bar reconstruction method for 2-D electrical impedance tomography are studied. The method is based on Nachman’s uniqueness proof [Ann. of Math. 143 (1996)] that applies to twice differentiable conductivities. However, the reconstruction algorithm has been successfully applied to experimental data, which can be characteriz...

Two reconstruction methods of Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) are numerically compared for nonsmooth conductivities in the plane based on the use of complex geometrical optics (CGO) solutions to D-bar equations involving the global uniqueness proofs for Calderón problem exposed in [Nachman; Annals of Mathematics 143, 1996] and [Astala and Päivärinta; Annals of Mathematics 163, 2006]: the ...
متن کاملModel-Aware Newton-Type Inversion Scheme For Electrical Impedance Tomography
Electrical impedance tomography is a non-invasive method for imaging the electrical conductivity of an object from voltage measurements on its surface. This inverse problem suffers in three respects: It is highly nonlinear, severely ill-posed and highly under-determined. To obtain yet reasonable reconstructions, maximal information needs to be gathered from the model and extracted from the data...
متن کاملSpherical harmonics for shape-based inverse problems as applied to electrical impedance tomography
Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a badly posed inverse problem. In a 3-D volume too many parameters are required to be able to obtain stable estimates with good spatial resolution and good accuracy. One approach to such problems that has been presented recently in a number of reports, when the relevant constituent parameters can be modeled as isotropic and piecewise continuous or homoge...
متن کاملThe Immersed Interface Method in Three Space Dimensions and Applied to Elliptic Inverse Problems
The immersed interface method (IIM) by Li and LeVeque has been used successfully for a wide variety of problems. We extended it to nonlinear one-dimensional elliptic and parabolic problems and applied it to traac ow. When applying the IIM to inverse problems in electrical impedance tomography, we found unstabilities that prohibited its use. Recent improvements by Li have overcome the problems (...
